POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Label Line Worker is responsible for handling raw materials and assumption of related quality control for screening inspections. Also responsible for packing finished products and assumption of related quality control inspection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Loading

  • Read batch ticket for requirements and special instructions.
  • Load table with container or aerosol product listed on batch ticket. Initial batch ticket.
    • Empty containers: verify size/type of container as listed on batch ticket.
    • Full Cans: Verify product and lot number of aerosol products.  Record lot number on batch ticket.
      • Once cans have emptied label empty boxes, according to instructions listed on batch tickets. Initial batch ticket.
  • Count and load the correct quantity of containers onto the loading table to complete the order. Verify quantity by recounting empty boxes before giving boxes to the packer.
  • Verify container label with operator.
    • Screen: verify batch ticket coincides with company product/name on inserted screen. Verify ink color with operator and initial batch ticket.
    • Label: verify item number on label coincides with item number listed on batch ticket and initial batch ticket.
  • Replace any missing tips before capping.
  • Keep containers within reach of the operator.
  • Follow Quality Control checks to eliminate errors. Prepare correct item for screening, ensuring no down time for operator or line to meet average production quota.
  • Cases taken out of stock are to be recorded on work order.
  • Check work order for cap color.
  • Cap aerosol cans after screening.
  • Keep visual check on quality of silk screening as you are capping cans.
  • Return all caps to the storage area at the end of production.
  • Wash and return all spare cans or containers left from production.
  • Clean work area and take out trash

 

Case Packing

  • Read Work Order.
  • Follow quality control checks to eliminate packaging errors. Set up the packing area by pulling the required components for packaging the screened item.
  • Get the correct size pallet. Package and stack screened items ensuring no down time for operator or line; thus, meeting daily production quota.
  • Print box labels and SDS when needed.
  • Check work order for special packing or label instructions. (Example: double pack or special stacking pattern.)
  • Inkjet boxes or label boxes - verify the company name and product name on printout attached to work order.
  • Make aerosol boxes enclosing extender tubes, SDS, gloves if required.
  • Keep visual check on quality of silk screening on aerosol cans or empty containers as you pack them.  Return any incorrectly screened items to the operator.
  • Write the company name and product name on boxes of empty containers, such as quarts or gallons.
  • Write company name, product name and amount on top layer of empty cans. 
    • Shrink wrap securely.  Attach pallet ticket to cans.
  • Stack aerosol cases or containers in the correct pattern for the item to be packed.
  • Count aerosol cases or containers.  Complete work order with all necessary information. Counts on work order must be correct.
  • Transfer work orders as each item is completed. Make any necessary adjustments.
    • Assist in any other area online such as capping, loading table, etc.; to ensure production Quota is met.
  • At the end of production take all completed orders to the proper area - shipping, liquid production, hand cleaner, etc.
  • Clean the work area and remove trash.
  • Ensure that all Personal Protective Equipment requirements are met.
  • Any other duties or projects which may be assigned by the Supervisor or Plant Manager.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  Experience working in a production environment is preferred.
