POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Manager will be managing and leading the Maintenance department, and at times working beside them. The Maintenance Manager will coordinate facility and building renovations, building and equipment maintenance, and parts and supplies, as well as department activities and special projects. This position will supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage day-to-day maintenance operations across liquid mixing, aerosol filling, propellant handling, packaging, and support utilities.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Conduct interviews, hire new staff, and provide employee orientation.
- Supervise and coach a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanics; manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations; assist technicians to resolve complex operational problems
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.), and PPE, especially related to flammable propellants and pressurized systems.
- Plan and coordinate major equipment overhauls, shutdowns, and capital improvement projects in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues affecting plant operations.
- Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis (RCA), reliability engineering, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage maintenance budget, cost control, vendor relationships, and service contracts.
- Develop a maintenance schedule for all equipment and facilities.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate suppliers of parts and tools for equipment repair and maintenance. Order and stock replacement parts to minimize downtime.
- Any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 10+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role required
- Experience in aerosol, chemical filling, or related operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, control systems, packaging equipment, and industrial utilities (compressed air, HVAC, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience implementing TPM, Lean, or Six Sigma maintenance practices.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and operating manuals.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time during shift
- Must be able to adhere to process protocol
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
